A Universe of Stories - Summer 2019

Summer 2019 Programs

Summer Reading Program

The Hamilton Public Library hosted on average 46 children each day during the week of June 25th - June 28th for their annual Summer Reading Program.

The children launched into the Summer Reading Program with balloon rockets!

They also made exploding rockets!

During the Summer Reading Space Exploration, the children learned about the power of the Sun and also how people can use that power to create beautiful "Sun Art Prints" using ordinary objects and photosensitive paper; the results - beautiful artwork! ☀️🌤

The boys stretched the limit with SLIME!

Madi and Sawyer achieved liftoff with their paper rockets.

Ms. Cecy treated the children to Story Time with Skippyjon Jones: Lost in Spice.

The children gathered together at the end of a long day of fun for daily attendance prizes!

MakerSpace

The Library had STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) MakerSpace projects with different weekly themes all throughout the summer.

You are invited to a LEGO Block Party.

The children made paper circuits that light up!

Perler Beads were a huge hit.

Team work makes the weaving work.

Ozobot Robotics

The most exciting addition to the Library's summer activities were the Ozobot Robotics Camps. Ozobots are small robots that teach basic coding skills. They can be programmed with different codes for awesome moves.

Tristan demonstrates how the Ozobots work.

Tucker explains how the color codes program the Ozobot.

Congratulations Liam Logan!! 👏

Liam attended Ozobot Beginners Camp this summer at the Library. Every child attending an Ozobot Robotics Camps was entered into a drawing to win one NEW Ozobot of their own. He is pictured with Robotics Teacher, Stacey Moore. Thank you to all the students who attended the Robotics Camps this summer, it was all good fun!! 🤖
